Provo is Utah's third largest city and is conveniently located between the Wasatch Mountains and Utah Lake. Things to do in Provo

Alpine Loop Scenic Byway
This 20-mile drive winds through rugged alpine canyons of the Wasatch Range, and offers great views of Mount Timpanogos and other glacier carved peaks. The route brings you to the American Fork Canyon and then continues through Uinta National Forest into Provo Canyon.

Bridal Veil Falls
Located just five minutes northeast of Provo in Provo Canyon is Bridal Veil Falls. This double cataract waterfall drops 607 feet and presents an awe-inspiring view from the canyon below.

Brigham Young University
One of the largest private schools in the nation, Brigham Young boasts several nationally ranked sports teams, as well as art, earth science and life science museums. Visit the library, take a tour or enjoy one of their many cultural events.

Earth Science Museum

Heber Valley Historic Railroad

John Hutchings Museum of Natural History

McCurdy Historical Doll Museum

Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum
Preserved and mounted examples of animals, insects, plants and fish can be seen here. Exhibits are based on the life cycles of all species. This family interactive center, print study center, theater, and art study center are conveniently located on the Brigham Young University campus. Nebo Loop Scenic Byway
This mountain drive offers stunning panoramic views of Mount Nebo, the Wasatch Range and Utah Valley. Babbling mountain streams lure fishermen and wildlife abounds. The Devil's Kitchen geologic site features red-rock formations reminiscent of those found in Southern Utah's famous parks.

Seven Peaks Water Park
The largest water park in Utah, this full service park includes slides, pools, and raft rides for all ages and groups. In the winter, the adjacent Ice Sheet provides indoor ice skating and hockey.

Springville Museum of Art
Utah's "Art City," this nationally recognized collection is housed in Utah's oldest and most beautiful museum for the visual fine arts. Springville Museum has documented the art of the state from pioneer days. Four main floor galleries display temporary exhibitions offering a wide variety of styles and media dealing with historical and contemporary art of Utah. Thanksgiving Point
A community-gathering place with an agricultural learning center, animal park and expansive vegetable and flower gardens on display throughout the year. A restaurant and golf course are also located on site. Call 801-768-4940 for more information.

Timpanogos Cave
Located on the north slope of Mt. Timpanogos, this monument is comprised of three limestone caverns connected by man-made tunnels. A short hike of 1.5 miles will take you to the cave, located 1,000 feet above the canyon floor. Temperatures inside the cave are about 45 degrees. The caves' formations - stalactites, stalagmites, dripstone and flowstone malash are the result of calcium carbonate and other minerals seeping into the groundwater of the cave. The cave is open mid-May to mid-October. Tickets must be purchased at the visitor center before hiking to the cave. Call 801-756-5238 for more information.

Timpanogos Cave
This ancient cave is one of the many National Parks near Provo. A guided tour complete with walkways and lights highlights all the haunting beauty of 3 natural limestone caverns connected by man made tunnels. All hidden away in the depths of 11,000 foot Mount Timpanogos.

Uinta National Forest
The Uinta Forest offers an inspiring view and the promise of mountain recreation to the residents of cities below. American Canyon and Provo Canyon have an autumn mix of aspen and pine. The Timpanogos Wilderness lies between the two canyons. Do not miss the magnificent Mt. Nebo Loop, a national Scenic Byway.
