Dinosaur National Monument
The largest quarry of Jurassic Period dinosaur bones ever discovered is the source of the 200,000-acre Dinosaur National Monument's name. 350 million tons of fossils, including full skeletons and remains of some dinosaur species have been excavated here. Today a year-round visitor center is built over the quarry to protect the 2,000 dinosaur bones left exposed in the sandstone wall. Located 30 miles from Roosevelt. Uinta National Forest
The Uinta Forest offers an inspiring view and the promise of mountain recreation to the residents of cities below. American Canyon and Provo Canyon have an autumn mix of aspen and pine. The Timpanogos Wilderness lies between the two canyons. Do not miss the magnificent Mt. Nebo Loop, a national Scenic Byway.
